This was something I always wanted to do, I always wanted to create a giant ugly troll looking thing. So I went ahead and created this guy! I wanted him to feel heavy and weighty, but also come off sad and lonely. I am really happy with the way it turned out. The big guy just needs a friend.

Back to creating artwork for the blog. I've been doing a lot of studying and drawing. I'm really trying to improve my workflow and simply learn more things. This is a personal project I decided to do, and that was basically creating a realistic looking character. CG is extremely powerful and there are many amazing artists that inspire me, so I wanted to challenge myself. The pipeline started off as an idea in my head, then Zbrush, Maya, and Photoshop. It was my first time ever using Mental ray and generating UV's and Maps. It was basically a first time for me actually being technical in my workflow, so I am happy at how the outcome came out. I am already thinking about my next project, so more artwork will be coming soon!

This was my entry to the 3D Fan Art Challenge over at Facebook. It was my first time entering the competition, there are a lot of amazing artists out there. I decided to re-design the Promethean Knight from the Halo 4 video game. I DO NOT own the rights to anything related to Microsoft or 343 Industries, I am simply showing my entry here. A WIP sketch and study. I wanted to practice evoking a certain mood and trying to bring various fantasy elements into the design as well. This took WAY TOO LONG, so speed is definitely something I have to work on.
